10月17日，仰韶文化发现暨中国现代考古学诞生100周年纪念大会在河南省三门峡市举行。大会宣读了中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平贺信。

胡和平在讲话中指出，党的十八大以来，习近平总书记高度重视考古工作，多次发表重要论述、作出重要指示批示，特别是此次专门发来贺信，为我们做好工作提供了根本遵循。要深入贯彻落实习近平总书记贺信精神和关于考古工作重要论述精神，增强工作责任感使命感，以科学可信的考古成果，塑造全民族正确历史认知、构建各民族共有精神家园；牢固树立保护历史文化遗产责任重大的观念，积极动员凝聚各方面力量，建强考古学科、考古队伍，为新时代考古事业健康可持续发展创造良好条件；推动考古成果利用，更加系统、更加生动地转化为坚定文化自信的宝贵资源，更好发挥以史育人、以文化人作用。胡和平强调，要充分认识百年来我国考古工作在展现中华文明发展脉络、灿烂成就、世界贡献等方面发挥的重要作用。要加大考古发掘工作力度，强化考古成果研究阐释，推动考古成果利用，扎实推进新时代考古工作。要完善政策法规体系，加强考古学学科建设，建好用好人才队伍，提升科技创新能力，切实为考古事业发展“保驾护航”。

谢伏瞻代表中国社科院向广大考古工作者表示热烈祝贺。他说，习近平总书记的贺信立意高远，思想深邃、内涵丰富、语重心长，充分体现了习近平总书记对考古工作的高度重视，对广大考古工作者的殷切希望和重托。广大考古工作者要积极响应号召，自觉肩负起党中央赋予的崇高使命，不断开创考古工作繁荣发展新局面。谢伏瞻指出，今年是中国共产党成立一百周年，中国现代考古学也走过了百年历程，成为20世纪以来哲学社会科学中发展最快的学科之一。回望百年历程，中国考古工作取得的辉煌成就是几代考古人严谨求实、艰苦奋斗、敬业奉献、挥洒汗水干出来的。新征程上，广大考古工作者要继承和发展中国考古事业，以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，准确把握中国考古学发展道路，聚焦重大历史问题，集中力量、联合攻关，探索未知、揭示本源，努力推出一批有思想穿透力的精品力作，加快构建中国特色考古学学科体系、学术体系、话语体系。要加强考古能力建设、学科建设、队伍建设，奋力开创中国考古学和考古工作新气象，为实现中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦而努力奋斗。
