Anders Leonard Zorn is one of the most important artists in Sweden. He was born in a small village under the jurisdiction of mura in dalana province and grew up on his grandparents' farm. After graduation in 1881, he traveled to England, Spain, Italy, France and the Balkans to paint. During his stay in Paris and London, inspired by Impressionism, he began to study the relationship between light and color. Since then, he has become one of the most famous painters of his time, and has achieved international success.

His early works are usually bright watercolours with light strokes, clear colors and accurate shapes. Later, he turned to oil painting. He was good at describing objects with broad and unconstrained brushwork, pursuing the light sense and color change of the picture. His painting method was loose and smooth. Zorn is said to mostly use basic colors: a basic palette of white, ochre, scarlet and ivory black. This limited palette shows great potential in color mixing.
