China and Cuba sign memorandum of understanding on strengthening tourism cooperation

12月16日，文化和旅游部副部长张旭在京会见了古巴驻华大使佩雷拉，双方签署了《中华人民共和国文化和旅游部与古巴共和国旅游部关于加强旅游合作的谅解备忘录》。

On December 16, Vice Minister of culture and tourism Zhang Xu met with Cuban ambassador to China Pereira in Beijing. The two sides signed the memorandum of understanding on strengthening tourism cooperation between the Ministry of culture and tourism of the people's Republic of China and the Ministry of tourism of the Republic of Cuba.

张旭积极评价中古文化和旅游合作。他表示，中古是好兄弟、好同志、好伙伴，两国在抗击新冠肺炎疫情中并肩战斗，树立起共同应对全球性危机的典范。今年恰逢中古建交60周年，两国文化和旅游部门克服困难、创新合作模式，共同举办“庆祝中古建交60周年云端音乐会”等活动，签署旅游合作文件，中古友好合作收获新的硕果。党的十九届五中全会对中国“十四五”时期经济社会发展作出了系统谋划和战略部署，提出要实行高水平对外开放、开拓合作共赢新局面，要加强对外文化交流和多层次文明对话，这将为中古合作带来更加广阔的前景。

The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made a systematic plan and strategic deployment for China's economic and social development during the "14th five year plan" period. It proposed that China should open up to the outside world at a high level, open up a new situation of win-win cooperation, and strengthen cultural exchanges and multi-level dialogue among civilizations, which will bring broader prospects for Sino Cuban cooperation.

佩雷拉说，中古友谊源远流长，建交60年来，两国友谊经受考验，文化和旅游领域合作成果丰硕。他感谢文化和旅游部一直以来对中古文化和旅游合作的重视，并表示，古方愿与中方继续携手努力，开创双边合作更加美好的明天。

Pereira said that the friendship between China and Cuba has a long history. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 60 years ago, the friendship between the two countries has been tested and fruitful results have been achieved in the field of culture and tourism. He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of culture and tourism for its attention to Sino Cuban cultural and tourism cooperation and said that Cuba is willing to continue to work with China to create a better future for bilateral cooperation.
