11月18日，文化和旅游部部长胡和平会见希腊驻华大使伊利奥普洛斯，双方就进一步深化两国文化和旅游交流与合作、共同举办2021年中希文化和旅游年等议题交换意见。

On November 18, Hu Heping, Minister of culture and tourism, met with Greek ambassador to China eliopoulos. The two sides exchanged views on further deepening cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and jointly hosting the 2021 China Greece year of culture and tourism.

胡和平表示，中国和希腊友好交往源远流长，新冠肺炎疫情发生以来，两国守望相助、共克时艰，中希友谊更加深入人心。特别是2019年两国元首实现互访，引领中希全面战略伙伴关系进入历史新阶段。近年来，在双方的共同努力下，两国文化交往保持积极发展态势，合作基础不断巩固，交流层次不断丰富，在“一带一路”建设、“17+1合作机制”及文明古国论坛框架下的合作成果丰硕。

刚刚闭幕的中共十九届五中全会对中国“十四五”时期经济社会发展作出了系统谋划和战略部署，会议提出要实行高水平对外开放、开拓合作共赢新局面，要加强对外文化交流和多层次文明对话，这将为中希两国的合作带来更加广阔的前景。中方愿与希方共同努力，按照习近平主席去年11月访问希腊时与米佐塔基斯总理达成的共识，举办好2021年中希文化和旅游年，推动中希文化关系向更高水平、更深层次发展。

The just concluded Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee made a systematic plan and strategic deployment for China's economic and social development during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The meeting proposed to implement high-level opening up, open up a new situation of win-win cooperation, and strengthen cultural exchanges and multi-level dialogue among civilizations, which will bring broader prospects for the cooperation between China and Greece. China is willing to work together with Greece to follow the consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Mito hakakis during his visit to Greece in November last year, and to organize the Sino Greek culture and tourism year in 2021 to promote the development of Sino Greek cultural relations to a higher level and deeper level.

伊利奥普洛斯表示，希腊和中国是东西方文明的重要代表，两国友好关系建立在深厚的历史积淀基础之上，而文化交往更是在希中友好关系中占有重要地位。2021年是希腊独立200周年，也是中国共产党建党100周年，对两国都具有重要意义。希方愿与中方一道，共同办好2021年希中文化和旅游年，持续深化两国文化交往，推动希中友好合作关系全面深入发展。

Iliopoulos said that Greece and China are important representatives of eastern and Western civilizations. The friendly relations between the two countries are based on profound historical accumulation, and cultural exchanges play an important role in the friendly relations between Greece and China. 2021 marks the 200th anniversary of Greece's independence and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, which is of great significance to both countries. Greece is willing to work with China to jointly hold the year of culture and tourism between Greece and China in 2021, continuously deepen cultural exchanges between the two countries, and promote the comprehensive and in-depth development of friendly and cooperative relations between Greece and China.

会谈结束后，胡和平与伊利奥普洛斯分别代表两国政府签署《中华人民共和国政府与希腊共和国政府关于合作举办2021年文化和旅游年的谅解备忘录》。

After the talks, Hu Heping and iliopoulos signed, on behalf of the two governments, the memorandum of understanding between the government of the people's Republic of China and the government of the Greek Republic on cooperation in hosting the 2021 year of culture and tourism.
