10月11日，2021年驻华外交官“发现中国之旅”启动仪式暨北京文旅资源推介会在京举办。中国文化和旅游部部长胡和平，北京市政协副主席、国家大剧院院长王宁出席活动并致辞。来自希腊、阿尔及利亚、阿联酋、朝鲜、黎巴嫩、马耳他等国家的驻华大使及34个国家的40位文化和旅游外交官共同出席活动。

胡和平在致辞时说，中国的发展离不开世界，世界的繁荣需要中国。“发现中国”是寻求发展机遇、分享发展机遇、实现发展共赢的过程。当前，新冠肺炎疫情仍肆虐全球，对国际文化交流和旅游业发展造成巨大冲击，中国文化和旅游部愿与各国政府文化和旅游部门一道，共同谋划“后疫情时代”国际文化和旅游行业恢复发展。此次中国文化和旅游部联合五省市举办的“发现中国之旅”系列活动，既是踏访神州大地，欣赏美丽中国山水、感悟悠久中华文明、体验绚丽风土民情的“发现之旅”，又是感受当代中国发展变化、感知中国活力魅力，了解真实、立体、全面中国的“友好之旅”。希望各国驻华外交官多走多看多听，感知感受感悟“诗和远方”的融合之美，乘兴而去、尽兴而归、不虚此行。

据了解，继北京首场活动之后，各国驻华外交官们还将分赴重庆、湖北、河南、贵州继续开启“发现中国之旅”。
