拥有比利时和英国双重国籍的19岁姑娘扎拉·拉瑟福德8月将开启独自驾驶飞机完成环球飞行之旅，挑战这一项目世界纪录。

Zara Rutherford, a 19-year-old girl with dual Belgian and British nationality, will start flying around the world alone in August to challenge the world record of this project.

拉瑟福德在多名赞助者帮助下筹款，打算进入大学前完成环球飞行。她定于8月11日从比利时首都布鲁塞尔驾驶超轻型飞机“鲨鱼”启程，在两三个月时间内飞越大西洋，飞临格陵兰岛、加拿大和南美，然后飞临美国阿拉斯加、俄罗斯以及印度尼西亚。这趟驾机环球之旅将飞越52个国家和地区，两次穿越赤道，总行程约5.1万公里。

Rutherford raised money with the help of several sponsors and planned to complete the round the world flight before entering the University. She is scheduled to fly an ultralight aircraft "shark" from Brussels, the capital of Belgium, on August 11. She will fly over the Atlantic in two or three months, to Greenland, Canada and South America, and then to Alaska, Russia and Indonesia. This round the world flight will fly over 52 countries and regions and cross the equator twice, with a total journey of about 51000 kilometers.

目前，独自驾机完成环球飞行的最年轻女性纪录保持者是阿富汗裔美籍飞行员沙叶斯塔·瓦伊孜，她2017年创下这项世界纪录时年龄为30岁。

At present, the youngest female record holder to fly around the world alone is Afghan American pilot shayesta vaiz, who was 30 when she set the world record in 2017.

拉瑟福德的父母都是飞行员。她妈妈说，拉瑟福德第一次说出计划时，“我的心脏‘怦怦’跳，用了好一段时间消化（这个消息）。现在我非常自豪，完全支持她”。

Rutherford's parents are pilots. Her mother said that when Rutherford first said the plan, "my heart pounded and took a long time to digest (the news). Now I am very proud and fully support her ".
