赝品的釉面多发白，常使用人工方式除去火光(酸浸、机械摩擦、土埋等作旧方式)，赝品的釉面上常有不自然的小黑点。

4.青花五彩：万历朝五彩瓷器使用天然进口回青料绘制青花，发色蓝中闪紫，浓艳、淡雅者皆有。五彩使用天然矿物颜料，红、绿、赭、紫等，颜色沉着，纯净，长期使用有自然脱落。

赝品：使用现代化学料，青花色浮，有时太过浓艳。彩料不同，色不纯，无使用痕迹。

5.纹饰绘画：万历朝五彩瓷器较多采用开光图案，绘画技法幼稚古朴，图案不规整，线条虽细却以繁密为重。主题纹饰多为龙凤纹、花鸟、人物故事、婴戏等。画工豪放，笔法写意，纹饰生动。

赝品的纹饰绘画因为现代画匠的绘画，其技艺根本无法与古人的境界相比，画工一般较呆板，人物造型刻画得不准确，古意不足，仔细观察多有败笔之处。
