木棉花为什么叫“英雄花”？因为木棉花开红艳但又不媚俗，它的壮硕的躯干，顶天立地的姿态，英雄般的壮观，花瓣的颜色红得犹如壮士的风骨，色彩就像英雄的鲜血染红了树梢，刚画完《广州塔》宣纸水还未干，蓝蓝天空倒影在水里，有鲜艳木棉花陪伴，更显得娇艳欲滴，洗完笔回来时，奇迹发生了，窗口站着小青鸟突然飞入朝画中小鸟叫唤。落在画中木棉花枝头叫唤同伴，怕它损坏我的画，急忙赶走真鸟。但喝杯茶回又不知从哪里掉下的几个死蝴蝶落在木棉花上，怕弄脏我的画面，就用口气吹掉它时，蝴蝶突然飞起，在房间中飞舞盘旋，在画中飞来飞去，最后又飞落到木棉花上久久不愿离去。直到我去捉时，才恋恋不舍才飞出窗外。过后还不断有小蝴蝶飞来飞去总是在我的画上停留留下不少斑点。早前也画广州新电视塔、珠江旭日、广州亚运会开幕式、花城中秋夜等作品都不曾有此奇奇怪怪的事情。

The kapok branches in the painting called their companions. They were afraid that it would damage my painting and hurried to drive away the real birds. But after drinking a cup of tea, several dead butterflies falling from nowhere fell on Kapok. Afraid of soiling my picture, I blew it off with my breath. The butterfly suddenly flew up, hovered in the room, flew around in the picture, and finally fell on Kapok. I didn't want to leave for a long time. It was not until I went to catch it that I was reluctant to part with it that I flew out of the window. After that, small butterflies kept flying around, always leaving many spots on my paintings. Earlier, I also painted the new TV Tower in Guangzhou, the rising sun of the Pearl River, the opening ceremony of the Guangzhou Asian Games, the mid autumn festival night in the flower city, etc.
