1989年10月14日，米娅·华希科沃斯卡出生于澳大利亚堪培拉。她从小就跟着自己的父母和一个哥哥、一个妹妹生活在那里，而她的拗口的姓氏则是从她波兰裔母亲那里继承来的。

Mia wahikovska was born in Canberra, Australia on October 14, 1989. As a child, she lived there with her parents, a brother and a sister, and her awkward surname was inherited from her Polish mother.

从小生活在一个艺术氛围浓厚的家庭中，米娅耳濡目染了不少摄影和绘画作品，她的父母尤其喜欢带着她在整个欧洲到处看画展。

Living in a family with a strong artistic atmosphere since childhood, Mia has been influenced by many photography and painting works. Her parents especially like to take her to see art exhibitions all over Europe.

在她8岁那一年，米娅的母亲带着她在波兰呆了一年，在这个有着浓厚文化气息的东欧国家里，米娅渐渐迷上了影像艺术，业余时间里她也拿起了相机，在母亲的指导下跃跃欲试地搞起了“创作”。
