共和国勋章获得者袁隆平院士因病去世

“共和国勋章”获得者、中国工程院院士、国家杂交水稻工程技术研究中心主任、湖南省政协原副主席袁隆平,因多器官功能衰竭,于2021年5月22日13时07分在长沙逝世,享年91岁。

袁隆平是我国研究与发展杂交水稻的开创者,也是世界上第一个成功地利用水稻杂种优势的科学家,被誉为“杂交水稻之父”。他冲破经典遗传学观点的束缚,于1964年开始研究杂交水稻,成功选育了世界上第一个实用高产杂交水稻品种“南优2号”。杂交水稻的成果自1976年起在全国大面积推广应用,使水稻的单产和总产得以大幅度提高。20多年来,他带领团队开展超级杂交稻攻关,分别于2000年、2004年、2011年、2014年实现了大面积示范每公顷10.5吨、12吨、13.5吨、15吨的目标。最新育成的第三代杂交稻叁优一号,2020年作双季晚稻种植平均亩产达911.7公斤,加上第二代杂交早稻亩产619.06公斤,全年亩产达1530.76公斤,实现了周年亩产稻谷3000斤的攻关目标。

He is known as the "father of hybrid rice". He broke through the shackles of classical genetics and began to study hybrid rice in 1964, successfully breeding the world's first practical High-yield Hybrid Rice Variety "Nanyou 2". The results of hybrid rice have been widely used in China since 1976, which greatly improved the yield per unit area and total yield of rice. For more than 20 years, he led the team to tackle key problems of super hybrid rice, and achieved the goals of 10.5 tons, 12 tons, 13.5 tons and 15 tons per hectare of large-scale demonstration in 2000, 2004, 2011 and 2014 respectively. The newly bred third-generation hybrid rice Sanyou No.1 will be planted as double cropping late rice in 2020, with an average yield of 911.7 kg / mu. In addition, the second-generation hybrid early rice will yield 619.06 kg / mu, with an annual yield of 1530.76 kg / mu, achieving the annual target of 3000 kg / mu.


“发展杂交水稻,造福世界人民”是袁隆平毕生的追求。为了实现这一宏愿,他长期致力于促进杂交水稻走向世界。目前,杂交水稻已在印度、孟加拉、印度尼西亚、越南、菲律宾、美国、巴西、马达加斯加等国大面积种植,年种植面积达800万公顷,平均每公顷产量比当地优良品种高出2吨左右。

In order to realize this ambition, he has been committed to promoting hybrid rice to the world for a long time. At present, hybrid rice has been widely planted in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, the United States, Brazil, Madagascar and other countries, with an annual planting area of 8 million hectares, and the average yield per hectare is about 2 tons higher than the local excellent varieties.


袁隆平1981年获得国家发明特等奖,2001年获得首届国家最高科学技术奖,2014年获得国家科学技术进步特等奖,2018年获“改革先锋”称号,2019年被授予“共和国勋章”。他还相继获得联合国教科文组织“科学奖”等二十余项国内国际大奖。
