袁世冀，号明光，1963年生于河北保定，就读于中国书画函授大学。自幼对字画情有独钟，时常用手指在冬日结满霜花的玻璃窗上涂抹，小学时拜我国著名书画篆刻家陈建功先生为师，初习柳体，后学北魏墓志，再后攻行草;宗法義、献、赵、董诸家，广泛博取，未曾懈怠。从唐人的法度中得到儒雅，宋人的意趣中得到风韵，明人的率逸中得到恣肆，以后随着功力的增长，眼界的放宽，特别是受佛家思想影响以大爱兼行天下，让他的书法作品不时地渗透出一种祥和之气抚慰身心。

Yuan Shiji, No. Mingguang, was born in Baoding, Hebei Province in 1963 and studied in correspondence university of Chinese painting and calligraphy. He was fond of calligraphy and painting when he was young. He often used his fingers to paint on the frosty windows in winter. In primary school, he was taught by Mr. Chen Jiangong, a famous calligrapher, painter and seal cutter in China. He first studied willow style, then studied the epitaph of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and then attacked cursive writing. He learned a lot from the families of patriarchal clan Yi, Xian, Zhao and Dong. From the Tang Dynasty  Later, with the growth of skill and the broadening of vision, especially under the influence of Buddhism, his calligraphy works permeated with a kind of peaceful atmosphere to comfort the body and mind.

袁世冀现在是香港文學藝術界聯合會美術家協會會員、書法家協會會員。中國詩書畫協會副秘書長。河北省保定國學學會一書法、 刻藝研究院副院長。中華慈善總會、中華公益總會、中國國際經濟技術合作促進會、中國名人文化交流協會愛心書畫家。共和國行業建設功勳人物。

Yuan Shiji is now a member of the Artists Association and Calligraphers Association of the Hong Kong Federation of literary and artistic circles. Deputy Secretary General of Chinese poetry, calligraphy and Painting Association. He is the vice president of the calligraphy and Engraving Art Research Institute of Baoding Sinology society. China Charity Association, China Public Welfare Association, China Association for the promotion of international economic and technological cooperation, and China celebrity Cultural Exchange Association. He is a meritorious figure in the industrial construction of the people's Republic of China.

In 2010, he participated in the new year's party jointly held by the Chinese Calligraphers Association and the digital TV calligraphy and painting channel in the Great Hall of the people in Beijing. 在《袁世冀书画作品集》里的第一幅作品就是一 -幅《佛》。从这沉静的佛字中可以看出袁世冀书法创作时的结体严瑾和中锋用笔的功力，意味深长的是最后- -笔没用传统楷书中的饱满悬针，而是令笔锋行至底线后便逐渐飞白变虚,不仅让作品产生了灵动，又蕴含了世上一切最终无不化作虚无的禅意。正因如此他才将此作品排在第一，以警醒人们远离喧嚣，淡泊名利。

The first work in Yuan Shiji's collection of paintings and calligraphy is a Buddha. From this quiet Buddhist character, we can see that Yuan Shiji's skill of combining Yan Jin and center in his calligraphy creation is meaningful. What is meaningful is that the pen doesn't use the full hanging needle in traditional regular script, but makes the pen gradually become white and empty when it reaches the bottom line, which not only makes the work flexible, but also contains the Zen idea that everything in the world eventually turns into nothingness. It is for this reason that he ranked this work first to warn people to stay away from the noise and indifferent to fame and wealth.

作品集里的《龙马》规格70*240公分可谓是一篇大品。 整篇作品虽然两字，但表现出了袁世冀在书法修为上的全方位功力。此作品饱满雄浑，疏密有致，骨、肉、气、色各处表现无不得体匀称。给人一种龙潜深潭，马伏厩枥随时待发腾跃的满怀激情。

袁世冀的书画作品多是以规劝人们修身自好的内容为多。行书《孝化三毒》就把《弟子规》中的名句题了上去:人生三毒乃自我，自大，自私。孝可化三毒，心通父，亦通母，天地贯通，我在其中，三代繁昌，家业恒兴。

Yuan Shiji's calligraphy and painting works are mostly to admonish people to cultivate themselves. The running script "Xiaohua three poisons" puts the famous sentence in "Di Zi Gui" on it: the three poisons of life are ego, arrogance and selfishness. Filial piety can transform the three poisons. The heart connects the father and the mother. Heaven and earth are connected. I am among them. Three generations prosper and my family is prosperous.

近年来随着对外文化交流的增多，袁世冀的书画作品也被世界各国的收藏家们所青睐其作品被俄羅斯、美國、加拿大、法國、英國、瑞士、德國、澳大利亚、泰國、新加坡、台灣、香港及國内書畫收藏家收藏。

In recent years, with the increase of foreign cultural exchanges, Yuan Shiji's calligraphy and painting works are also favored by collectors all over the world. His works are collected by Russian, American, Canadian, French, British, Swiss, German, Australian, Thai, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and domestic collectors.
