《不争群芳图上品 只为秋日献莲蓬 记画家葛岩法》

仅18分钟,一幅根盘虬曲,枝疏花淡,清新素雅的梅花图,随着一只老人手中的秃笔挥动便跃然了纸上。这是在浙江黄岩的梅庄葛岩法大师在那里画梅写生时的一个场景。此时是2007年的正月初六。

In only 18 minutes, a picture of plum blossoms with curly roots, thin branches and light flowers, and fresh and elegant plum blossom, with an old man's bald pen waving, it jumped onto the paper. This is a scene of master Ge Yanfa in meizhuang, Huangyan, Zhejiang Province, when he was painting plum from life. This is the sixth day of the first month in 2007.


头一天晚上,我在好友程先生的家里看到两本画集:《中国当代著名画家个案研究-----葛岩法写意花鸟》和《中国美术家-----葛岩法画集》,为画面上的大气布局和高远意境所震撼,说实话我不懂画,就象一个不懂橱艺但能分辨出什么是好菜一样,能感觉到书画的层次,因为有时去图书馆也常找出些中国历代收藏的书画作品集看一下,感受一下古典文化的神韵。出差旅游时知道哪有书画展览也都凑上去看看,加上二弟喜欢收藏书画常和那个圈子里的朋友交往,受他们的熏陶也就对中国的书画感上了兴趣。

I could feel the layers of calligraphy and painting Because sometimes when I go to the library, I often find some collections of calligraphy and painting works collected in Chinese history to have a look and feel the charm of classical culture. When traveling on business, I would like to have a look at any painting and calligraphy exhibition. In addition, my second brother likes to collect calligraphy and paintings, and often contacts with friends in that circle. Influenced by them, he became interested in Chinese painting and calligraphy.

程先生告诉我,画集的作者葛岩法老师是他的好友,也是他画画的老师,明天要去梅庄为他即将出版的《百梅图》写生,问我有没有时间去看看。这才使我有了结识葛老师的机会。临去前我认真地看了葛老师的画集。在介绍他的艺术简历上我看到:葛岩法又名葛彦汎,笔名松溪、半梦斋主、师竹堂主。现为中国书画家协会会员、浙江省美术家协会会员、浙江省花鸟画家协会会员、浙江省工艺美术协会理事、台州市美术家协会理事、中国国画家协会理事。进修于中国艺术研究院高研班。北京中联国兴书画院创作部副部长,一级美术师,松溪美术馆馆长。从小喜欢绘画,年长后求教于中国美院陆抑非、王伯敏、卢坤峰等诸教授。在高研班里师从姜宝林大师。1990年在杭州举办“南北四人画展”同年15幅作品参加美国举办的亚洲画展,其中作品《鹤寿》被美国新泽西州博物馆收藏。《倩影》被浙江省博物馆收藏。

Mr. Cheng told me that Mr. Ge Yanfa, the author of the collection of paintings, is his good friend and also his painting teacher. He will go to meizhuang tomorrow to sketch for his upcoming "hundred plum painting" and ask me if I have time to have a look. This gave me the chance to get to know Mr. Ge. Before I left, I carefully read Mr. GE's paintings. In introducing his art resume, I can see that GE Yanfa is also known as GE YanPan, and his pen name is Songxi, banmengzhai master and Shizhu hall master. He is now a member of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, Zhejiang Artists Association, Zhejiang flower and bird painter Association, Zhejiang Arts and Crafts Association, Taizhou Artists Association and China National Artists Association. He studied in the advanced research class of China Academy of Arts. He is the deputy director of the creation Department of Guoxing calligraphy and Painting Academy of China United in Beijing, a first-class artist and curator of Songxi Art Museum. He was fond of painting when he was young, and asked for advice from Professor Lu Yanfei, Wang Bomin and Lu Kunfeng of the Chinese Academy of fine arts. He learned from master Jiang Baolin in the advanced research class. In 1990, a "painting exhibition of four people from north and South" was held in Hangzhou. In the same year, 15 works participated in the Asian painting exhibition held in the United States, among which the work "Heshou" was collected by the New Jersey Museum. Qianying was collected by Zhejiang Provincial Museum.

1998年由上海三联书店出版了《葛岩法画集》;出版两本中国画挂历、台历。多件作品刊于《当代书画篆刻家辞典》《国画家》《中国青年国画家》《中国画小品集》,《美术报》等。花鸟画《竹枝》、《雅趣》两幅作品在法国《欧洲时报》做了专题报道。看到这些,我知道果然是遇见了大师。

In 1998, Shanghai Sanlian Bookstore published Ge Yan's painting collection, and published two Chinese painting calendars and Taiwan calendars. Many of his works have been published in the dictionary of contemporary calligraphy, painting and seal carvers, Chinese painters, young Chinese painters, Chinese painting sketches, art daily, etc. The flower and bird painting "bamboo branch" and "Yaqu" were featured in the European times of France. Seeing these, I knew that I met the master.

大师和我想象的不一样,不是穿西装梳背头洋派打扮,也不是休闲服扎小辫的那种搞艺术家形象。在梅庄的盆景园里我看到葛老师穿一件藏青色的制服棉衣,一条蓝色牛仔裤,老式的黑皮鞋,极普通的一个老人。细观察发现葛老师的脸型象在电视剧《三国演义》演曹操的鲍国安。那眼神里不时透出一种艺术家的善良和有着丰富人生阅历的机敏。

The master is different from what I imagined. He is not dressed in a suit with a back and hair, nor is he an artist in casual wear with pigtails. In the bonsai garden of meizhuang, I saw Mr. Ge wearing a navy blue uniform cotton padded jacket, blue jeans and old-fashioned black leather shoes. He was a very ordinary old man. Close observation found that GE's face is like Bao Guoan, who plays Cao Cao in the TV drama romance of the Three Kingdoms. From time to time, there is a kind of life experience in the eyes of the artist.

葛先生告诉我,他小时学画,主要是受父亲影响,父亲喜欢民间乐器,能拉胡琴会吹笛子,在村里的戏班子里是司鼓,平时也写书法,就这样感染了他,没事时也找些纸头写写画画,先是画家乡的山水花鸟,那时没有纸他就经常在旧报纸上写画,有时还去村里小商店里检来废包装纸练画,后来为了生活他学会了雕刻,为提高雕刻枝艺他又重研画画,这时他找到了《芥子园画谱》开始系统地钻研中国画的运笔、用墨、章法和布局。后来眼界渐宽研究上了中国前辈的大师们,他喜欢徐青藤、八大山人那种冷峻、清奇的放纵,也喜欢郑板桥、华新罗、任伯年的率意、雅逸中的收敛。他从吴昌硕、齐白石的作品里吸纳了他们拙朴、浑厚、老辣的笔法。也在李苦禅、潘天寿大师们的画卷中感受到了清新、灵动、妙趣天生的意境。

Mr. Ge told me that when he was young, he learned painting mainly because of his father's influence. His father liked folk musical instruments and could play huqin and flute. In the village's Opera Troupe, he was a drum player. He also wrote calligraphy at ordinary times. When he was free, he would look for some paper to write and draw. First, he painted landscapes, flowers and birds in his hometown. At that time, he often wrote pictures in old newspapers and sometimes went to small businesses in the village He picked up waste wrapping paper to practice painting. Later, he learned how to carve in order to make a living. In order to improve his carving skills, he studied painting again. At this time, he found the "Mustard garden painting manual" and began to study the brushwork, ink use, composition and layout of Chinese painting systematically. Later, he became more and more broad-minded and studied the masters of Chinese predecessors. He liked the cold and strange indulgence of Xu Qingteng and Badashan people, and also liked the idea and convergence of Zheng Banqiao, huaxinluo and Ren Bonian. From Wu Changshuo's and Qi Baishi's works, he absorbed their simple, vigorous and spicy writing techniques. In the paintings of Li kuchan and Pan Tianshou, we can feel the natural artistic conception of freshness, flexibility and wit.

可能是有着差不多生活经历的关系,在这些大师中间他比较偏爱齐白石,因为齐白石从小也很苦,也是从民间艺人走出来的大师,所以他的作品都来自周围的生活场景。

读葛老师的作品的第一感觉就是鲜活有浓厚的生活气息。在他的画集里随便翻出一幅作品都让你感觉到他对生活的热爱和在追求生命的活力。

The first feeling of reading Mr. GE's works is that they are fresh and full of life atmosphere. You can feel his love for life and the vitality of life when you turn over a painting in his collection.


葛老师的经历很苦,1944年出生在浙江沿海中部的台州黄岩,当年这里地少山多,交通不便,年轻时为了谋生他种过地,打过工,还从乡下的瓜农那里倒腾过西瓜到城里切成块在地滩上叫卖。他知道生活的艰辛,也立志要改变眼前的生活,1975年,他带领5个雕刻徒弟办起了工艺品厂,从此他就白天办厂晚上作画,以办厂的经济收入支撑着作画的兴趣。用不断提高的画技促进了工艺产品的发展,这段时间他的作品参加了《全国第一届农民画展》,和中国《南北四人画展》,在美国举办的《亚洲画展》里的参展作品和被法国《欧洲时报》专题介绍过的《竹韵》《雅趣》作品都是那时用晚上的时间完成的。

Mr. GE's experience is very hard. He was born in Huangyan, Taizhou, in the central coastal area of Zhejiang Province in 1944. When he was young, in order to make a living, he planted and worked in Huangyan, Taizhou, in the middle of Zhejiang Province. When he was young, he planted and worked. He also poured watermelon from farmers in the countryside to the city and cut them into pieces and sold them on the beach. He knew the hardships of life and was determined to change his present life. In 1975, he led five sculptors to set up a handicraft factory. From then on, he set up a factory by day and painted at night. His interest in painting was supported by his income. During this period, his works participated in the first National Farmers' painting exhibition and China's painting exhibition of four people from north and south. His works in the Asian painting exhibition held in the United States and the bamboo rhyme and Yaqu works introduced by the European times in France were all completed in the evening.


葛老师为人谦和风趣,知道我一人在台州工作就邀我去他家看画,还答应送我一本大画册,我真的有一种受宠之感。也有了更进一步了解大师的生活机会。

Mr. Ge is modest and witty. Knowing that I work alone in Taizhou, he invited me to his home to see paintings, and promised to send me a large album. I really feel flattered. There is also an opportunity to learn more about the master's life.


葛老师的家在永宁江南岸区政府的西面。是新建成不久的豪宅楼群,屋子宽敞整洁透出一种职业画家的那种气氛。在靠南阳台的画室里,一张大画案上铺着一张没画完的《莲花出水图》,画面上一湾池水,两支荷花欲开还羞的神态。东墙挂满了他刚写生回来的各种姿态的梅花。北墙上挂着他在北京读研究生时一些师友送他的书画作品。西面的书橱里挤满了各种版本的名家画集和一些中国书画理论技法方面的书。我信手拿出一本翻卷着的有些发旧的书,原来是和书画一点也不打界的姚雪垠写的小说《李自成》,葛老师告诉我他喜欢中国历史文学,这套书看了好多遍了。特别喜欢里边的刘宗敏这个人物,说这个人物让姚雪垠写活了,边说边说书般地讲起了刘宗敏一个喷嚏吓死老虎的那一段。讲得活灵活现。逗得我们全都大笑起来。在笑声里我忽然感悟到了葛老师作品里的那种活气正是来自于他的率真和从其他艺术表现手法汲取的营养。

Mr. GE's home is in the west of the South Bank district government of Yongning River. It is a group of newly built luxury buildings. The room is spacious and tidy, which shows the atmosphere of a professional painter. In the studio near the south balcony, there is an unfinished painting of lotus water on a large painting table. On the picture, there is a bay of water, and two lotus flowers are looking forward to opening. The east wall is covered with plum blossoms of various postures he has just returned from sketching. On the north wall are the paintings and calligraphy that some of his teachers and friends gave him when he was a graduate student in Beijing. The bookcase in the west is full of various versions of famous paintings and some books on the theory and techniques of Chinese painting and calligraphy. I took out an old book that was rolled up. It turned out that it was a novel written by Yao xueyin, who did not know anything about calligraphy and painting. Mr. Ge told me that he liked Chinese history and literature, and had read it many times. I especially like the character Liu Zongmin. He said that this character made Yao xueyin write alive. While talking, he told a story about Liu Zongmin who sneezed and scared the tiger to death. It's very vivid. It made us all laugh. In the laughter, I suddenly realized that the vitality in Mr. GE's works comes from his frankness and other artistic expression techniques.


谈到对画画的见解葛老师说:画是从生活中来、从自然中来的,画画不能把生活原样地搬来,那样就是照片了,照片还有个取舍和后期的艺术加工呢。作画要有激情,要热爱生活,要把生命力注进笔端,这样的画才耐看,才能打动人。他的作品真的都是充满生活气息和情趣的。他的画都是动感十足,或一只雄鸡在昂首啼鸣。或是两只小鸟临枝和唱。葛老师的画讲究的是呼应和生动。

Speaking of his views on painting, Mr. Ge said: painting comes from life and from nature. Painting can't bring life as it is. That's the photo. There is still a trade-off and artistic processing in the later stage. Painting should have passion, love life, and put vitality into the end of the pen. Only in this way can such a painting stand out and move people. His works are really full of life and interest. His paintings are full of motion, or a cock crowing with his head raised. Or two little birds singing. Mr. GE's paintings pay attention to echo and vividness.

葛老师是农民出身,至今还保留着农民的质朴情感,别人对他的好处他能终生不忘。在北京读研究生时,一次他的老师为给他送一个国家级书画展览会的门票“打的”一个多小时车费花了60多元。而那张门票才30元。“不说那门票的价钱和车费就是人家老师专门用一个红信封装好门票写上 你的名字专程送给你,就说明人家拿你非常的当事”说到这里葛老师的脸上还洋溢着一种感动之情。

Mr. Ge was born in a farmer's family. He still retains his rustic feelings. He will never forget the benefits of others. When he was a graduate student in Beijing, his teacher once spent more than 60 yuan to "taxi" the tickets for a national calligraphy and painting exhibition. And that ticket is only 30 yuan. "Not to mention the price and fare of the ticket, it's that the teacher used a red letter to seal the ticket, write your name and send it to you, which means that people take you seriously." at this point, Mr. GE's face was also filled with a feeling of moving.


葛老师是个淡泊名利之人,为了专心作画十多年前就把正办得红红火火的工艺品厂交给了儿子管理,大前年又辞去了黄岩区美协主席的职务,就是要狠下心来把国画弄出个名堂来,在他家里我看到了《名流》刊物里贾德江写的《性与梅花近画写花鸟神》介绍葛岩法大师书画的文章和那里配发的《香自苦寒来》《寒香瘦影》《君子交谊》,等七幅作品。又在《书画家》《美术世界》这些国家级的权威刊物上看到了他的《唐寅诗韵》《报春》《香在百花先》等作品。看得出他在中国当代画家中的地位和实力。当我赞叹葛先生的勤奋和多产时他谦和地说:勤奋是有的,多产还不够,我就是一直地画下去。他为了即将出版的《百梅图》大年初一就到梅庄去写生,并给自已规定每天要画出10幅。他还要回到他乡下的松溪边住上十天半月的好好地对那里的山水进行一下写生,这样的勤奋难怪是大师。

Mr. Ge is a man who is indifferent to fame and wealth. In order to concentrate on painting, he left the flourishing handicraft factory to his son more than ten years ago. The year before last, he resigned as the chairman of Huangyan District Art Association. He wanted to make traditional Chinese painting famous. At his home, I saw that Jia Dejiang wrote "sex and plum blossom, close to painting the God of flowers and birds", which was written by Jia Dejiang in celebrity magazine, introducing Ge Yanfa The master's calligraphy and painting articles and seven works distributed there, such as "fragrance from bitter cold", "cold fragrance thin shadow", "gentleman friendship", etc. He also saw his works such as Tang Yin's poetry rhyme, spring Herald, fragrance in flowers first and other national authoritative journals such as calligrapher and painter and art world. We can see his status and strength in Contemporary Chinese painters. When I praised Mr. Ge for his diligence and productivity, he said modestly: there is diligence, but productivity is not enough. I just keep painting. He went to meizhuang on the first day of the lunar new year for the upcoming "hundred plum painting" and set himself to draw 10 pieces a day. He still has to go back to live by the Songxi River in the countryside for ten and a half days to paint the landscape there. No wonder he is a master with such diligence.


临走时我又看到了他画案前的那幅没画完的《荷花出水图》,想想对葛老师的感觉,自然就把他联想到了那幅没画完的荷花上了。想用荷花比喻一下葛老师:
