1944年9月25日，迈克尔出生于新泽西州，父亲是演员柯克·道格拉斯，是犹太人。母亲是女演员戴安娜·道格拉斯，有英格兰、爱尔兰、苏格兰、威尔士、比利时、法国和荷兰血统。迈克尔·道格拉斯的祖父母是俄国的犹太移民。

On September 25, 1944, Michael was born in New Jersey to actor Kirk Douglas, a Jew. Her mother is actress Diana Douglas, of English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Belgian, French and Dutch descent. Michael Douglas's grandparents were Jewish immigrants from Russia.

毕业于美国加州大学圣塔芭芭拉分校，作为影星柯克·道格拉斯的儿子，迈克尔·道格拉斯丝毫不比父亲逊色。

Graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Michael Douglas is no less than his father as the son of the film star Kirk Douglas.

1976年因担任《飞越疯人院》制片人获奥斯卡最佳影片奖，1987年凭借电影《华尔街》获得奥斯卡最佳男主角奖。

In 1976, he won the Oscar for best picture as the producer of "fly over the lunatic asylum", and in 1987, he won the Oscar for Best Actor for the film "Wall Street".

In 2000, he married British actress Catherine Zeta Jones, 24 years younger than him. In June 2009, Michael Douglas was awarded the American Academy of motion picture Lifetime Achievement Award. Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.

2010年8月，被确诊患上咽喉癌。2014年，凭借《烛台背后》获得迷你剧/电视电影最佳男主角奖，迈克尔·道格拉斯又加盟漫威电影《蚁人》，出演一代蚁人汉克·皮姆博士。

In August 2010, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. In 2014, Michael Douglas won the best actor award in a miniseries / TV film for "behind the candlestick". Michael Douglas joined the marvel film "ant man" to play the role of Dr. hank Pimm, the ant man generation.

2019年1月，凭借《柯明斯基理论》获第76届美国电影电视金球奖音乐/喜剧类剧集最佳男主角。

不过，道格拉斯似乎也沿袭了父辈们缺乏家庭责任感的缺点，对事业的过分注重及酗酒的陋习令他年轻时并没有给予孩子足够的关心。

However, Douglas also seems to have inherited the shortcomings of his parents' lack of family responsibility. He paid too much attention to his career and his bad habit of drinking, which made him not give enough attention to his children when he was young.

2020年10月12日，在世界文化艺术家排行榜《每日一星》评选活动中荣获第一名。
