焦恩俊于1967年11月7日生于中国台湾省嘉义市，祖籍山东青岛。嘉义市古名“诸罗山”，亦名桃城，以其古城形如桃而名，桃之尾尖，在今中央七彩喷水一带，市民惯称桃仔尾。
Jiao Enjun was born on November 7, 1967 in Jiayi City, Taiwan Province, China. Jiayi city was known as "Zhuluo mountain" in ancient times, also known as peach city. It is famous for its ancient city's shape of peach. The tail of peach is sharp. In the area of colorful water spray in the central area, people often call it taoziwei.
嘉义是台湾交趾陶的发源地，因而有“交趾陶的故乡”之称，日人又称之为“嘉义烧”。交趾陶为一种低温多彩釉，是融合了软陶与广窑的一种陶艺，且包容了捏塑、绘画、烧陶等技艺及宗教文化的民俗工艺，堪称民间艺术的国宝。
