2018年12月27日，太阳马戏大型舞台剧《阿凡达前传——魅影骑士》三亚首演发布会在三亚隆重举行。会上宣布，《魅影骑士》全球巡演三亚站演出将于2018年2月1日正式拉开帷幕，该剧将于明年2月到5月期间，在三亚持续上演120场。1月3日演出抢票通道将正式开启，感兴趣的观众可通过官方售票渠道：复星旅游公众号或APP进行购买，也可通过携程、飞猪、驴妈妈、美团、途牛、大麦、微票等各大OTA/票务平台/旅行社抢票，世界顶级舞台剧的内地首演，即将揭开神秘的面纱！

表演中，极具感官刺激的舞台道具完美结合声光电效果，光影配合布景变化，丛林、海洋、天空在舞台上轻松切换，将给观众带来无与伦比的奇幻体验。某些视觉特效还将与演员动作同步展现，例如演员在森林中漫步时留下的发光轨迹，地面投射出影子来表现在空中盘旋的生物等。

甚至视频投影有时会超出舞台范围直接投射到观众区，让观众觉得他们不仅仅是在“观看”潘多拉星球，而是真正“位于”潘多拉星球上。例如，在某个场景中，波涛会从观众区涌起，然后冲上舞台；而在另一个场景中，布满星星的天空将投射到整个剧院，几乎将剧院变成了一个上下颠倒的天文馆。

据了解，这次《魅影骑士》在三亚的演出，最大的改进就是将第一次进驻大帐篷，相比其他城市的体育馆布景，这更能充分体现其原汁原味的风貌。演出的大帐篷为方型，内设超大型舞台，总投影面积达1858平方米，尺寸超过5个IMAX屏幕。主办方动用了5架飞机搬运道具、设备等材料。
