“白山黑水间有一个美丽的地方……”随着冰凌姑娘、小雪人、人参爷爷的纷纷登台，展现了一派其乐融融的和谐画面。《冰雪家园》以冰雪文化为主题元素，将杂技技巧与故事情节完美融合，同时又跨界戏剧、舞蹈、动漫等艺术形式，讲述了生活在白山黑水间的“动物精灵”为保护家园生态大战“垃圾王”的故事。1个多小时中，观众不仅欣赏到了杂技团各种压箱底的技巧，还有许多创新类技巧让人大饱眼福。

与传统的杂技节目不同，《冰雪家园》中的每一段表演都是一个带冰雪元素的杂技，主创团队在创作之初就考虑到了节目的灵活性。杂技团准备了近几年恢复的近40个节目，并从中选了18个，把它们重新组合，再融入剧情，使该剧不仅是一台驻场演出，还能走进基层，让更多观众感受杂技的精彩。“创作团队再次创新，让杂技染上了情绪，用高难度的技巧来表达快乐、愤怒、悲伤。”该剧导演李滨告诉记者，“这部剧就像交响乐一样，各种表演形式、民俗文化相辅相成，共同完成一篇描述美好家园的‘文章’。”
