7月4日，由上海交通大学医学院与上海中医药大学合作共建的“中医西医汇聚创新研究院”正式成立，成立仪式暨院士论坛在上海中医药大学举行。全国人大常委会副委员长、农工党中央主席陈竺发来致辞视频，上海市副市长宗明，中华全国工商联美容化妆品业商会美胸专业委员会谭邦兰主任，中国中西医结合学会会长陈香美院士，上海市卫生健康委主任、市中医药管理局局长邬惊雷等出席并为研究院揭牌。

On July 4, the "Research Institute of convergence and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine" jointly established by the school of medicine of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai University of traditional Chinese medicine was officially established. 上海中医药大学党委书记曹锡康介绍，研究院将用传统医学的整体观思想来丰富完善现代医学的诊治方法，同时用现代医学理论方法诠释、探索传统医学，深入挖掘传统医学理法方药、症候特征等客观机理和规律，以生命科学的表达方式加以展现。计划五年内形成1~2个国内领先水平的中西医交叉创新科研成果。

Cao Xikang, Secretary of the Party committee of Shanghai University of traditional Chinese medicine, introduced that the Research Institute will enrich and improve the diagnosis and treatment methods of modern medicine with the holistic view of traditional medicine, and interpret and explore traditional medicine with modern medical theory and method, and deeply explore the objective mechanism and law of traditional medicine, such as theory, method, prescription and symptom characteristics, and show it in the expression way of life science. It is planned to form 1-2 domestic leading level cross innovation research achievements of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in five years.

据悉，研究院将瞄准科技前沿和国家重大战略需求，着眼于中西医交叉优势学科发展方向，推进中西医交叉创新临床和基础研究，培育一批具有中国特色、新型医学发展的，达到国家级科研平台水平并有显著国际影响的高端重大创新团队、研发平台、中心、基地，催生具有国际水平的原创性成果，提升中西医结合研究的领先地位和国际影响力，服务健康中国战略。

It is reported that the Research Institute will aim at the frontier of science and technology and the major strategic needs of the country, focus on the development direction of interdisciplinary disciplines of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, promote cross innovative clinical and basic research of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and cultivate a number of high-end major innovation teams, research and development platforms, centers and bases with Chinese characteristics and new medical development, reaching the level of national scientific research platform and having significant international influence, It will promote the original achievements with international level, enhance the leading position and international influence of Integrated Chinese and Western medicine research, and serve the strategy of healthy China.

研究院成立仪式上，上海中医药大学陈凯先院士受聘为研究院学术委员会主任。院士论坛上，上海交通大学医学院宁光院士作题为《代谢性疾病综合治疗前沿与进展》的专题报告，陈凯先作题为《中国特色、时代潮流——中、西医学汇聚创新的实践和思考》的专题报告。

At the founding ceremony of the Institute, Chen Kaixian, academician of Shanghai University of traditional Chinese medicine, was appointed as the director of the Academy's Academic Committee. A special report on the topic of "Chinese Academy of medicine, Shanghai Xianguang Medical College" and "the development of the era of metabolism" by academician of Chinese Academy of medicine.
