雷家祖籍江西南昌，乃文艺世家。迁居昆明后，在当地颇有名望，深得左邻右舍敬重。雷昆珊稍微懂事，便跟随父亲雷泽群学习京剧，并拜京剧名家关肃娟为师，任云南省京剧院小演员，学习播音、话剧、歌剧、舞蹈、表演，并任昆明市红领巾艺术团领舞领唱。
The Lei family, whose ancestral home is Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, is a literary family. After moving to Kunming, he was well-known and respected by his neighbors. 文革期间排演过多部京剧歌剧。1990年出国后在南美洲玻利维亚科恰班巴省拉莱多艺术专科学院学习声乐理论及歌唱。在美国加利福尼亚州圣迭戈省，玻利维亚科恰班巴省等多国多地进行艺术活动。时任玻中友协副主席.玻利维亚科恰班巴省艺术家协会理事，2002年返回中国。
During the cultural revolution, there were many Peking Opera rehearsals. After going abroad in 1990, he studied vocal theory and singing at the Art College of lalaido, Cochabamba Province, Bolivia, South America. Art activities are held in San Diego, California, Bolivia, Cochabamba and other countries. At that time, he was vice chairman of China Bolivia Friendship Association and director of Artists Association of Cochabamba Province, Bolivia, and returned to China in 2002.
