作为中国几大互联网公司之一,网易在门户、游戏、电商等诸多领域都落后一城,而意料之外的网易云音乐的崛起让丁磊看到了实现超越和领先的一丝曙光。作为网易旗下唯一一个超4亿用户的app,再加上丁磊个人对音乐的偏好,网易公司对云音乐的支持力度前所未有。
从网易云音乐由音乐产品中心(二级部门)升级为网易音乐事业部(一级部门),以及A轮融资7.5亿元,网易云音乐未来的出路很有可能也是瞄准上市,然而,上市势必要取得投资者的青睐,展现自己的盈利能力。放眼国内和全球,流媒体平台大多处于亏损状态,目前的网易云音乐也并没有摆脱“Pandora困境”,囿于用户体量,在数字专辑、付费会员、音乐电商、演出票务,都是小大小闹,难以形成规模收入。
去年8月,网易云音乐在其官微发布《关于版权,我有一些话想跟大家说……》一文,其中【关于钱】这样表示:“网易云音乐今年4月公布了A轮7.5亿元融资,我们有充裕的资金。”然而,网易云忽略的是,版权不仅关乎成本,还关乎一个公司的命门:是否盈利。
在网易云音乐与华研达成战略合作的同一天,在线音乐app的另一家——多米音乐停止运营,而其停服重要原因之一就是“版权买不起了”。
要知道,多米音乐成立6年时间,已经5轮融资,融资金额达3.47亿元。而网易云音乐仅有1轮融资,虽然金额有7.5亿元但仅仅华研这一笔版权费用就花费了融资金额三分之二,而且,一年已经过去,却迟迟未见网易云音乐的第二笔融资。而网易云音乐在盈利无门的情况下,面对如此高昂版权成本,是否会成为“下一个多米”?
