Once the new bill is passed, the government will work out the minimum body mass index (BMI) of the model. The model company must show a doctor's proof that the model BMI is up to the standard. Fran said that if the illegal models appeared on the show or advertised, the brokerage company would not only be fined 75 thousand euros (496 thousand yuan), but also could face up to 6 months' imprisonment.
The body mass index is equal to the weight (kilogram) divided by 2 times the height (meter). Fran introduced that the lower limit of BMI recommended by the bill is 18.5, because according to the WHO standard, BMI is below 18, that is malnutrition, less than 17 is severe malnutrition, and less than 16 is considered to be in famine. The second new legislation of the Guangzhou daily prohibits the website of anorexia. For example, some French women's websites advocate that the gap between the two thighs of 12 to 13 years old girls should be 15 centimeters, which will be beautiful, which will obviously affect the normal development of girls.
The new regulations stipulate that the morbid type of slimming will be fined 10 thousand euros (about 66 thousand) and 1 years in prison.
"3 to 40 thousand people in France are suffering from anorexia, and 90% of them suffer from anorexia. They are mainly influenced by public opinion on the definition of fashion." Fran said. "The beauty of a model should not be ill - conditioned, and should convey a healthy image."
France was not the first country to make "no thin order". Israel set the model minimum BMI to 18.5 in the previous year, and was the first country to implement national legislation. Last year, Italy, Spain and Belgium have also formulated trade codes and local legislation to regulate the weight of models. (Chemistry)
