在中国拥有超高人气的玛丽亚，也是第一位作为非洲歌手在中国开演唱会的外国歌手。继2013年7月5日在北京万世达中心成功举行演唱会后，又于同年11月19日在湖南成功举行第二场个唱。在综艺节目和演出时，玛利亚也经常会唱起那首《谢谢你中国》来直言心声。
