近日,爱尔兰著名诗人、诺贝尔文学奖得主威廉·巴特勒·叶芝的经典作品《鹰井之畔》英文版戏剧在国内首演,并获得圆满成功。本次演出在四川人民艺术剧院黑螺艺术空间举行,可容纳200名观众的剧场内座无虚席。来自成都睿知少儿戏剧英语的老师和小朋友们用全英文演绎了这部经典作品,其中最小的演员仅为3岁,40分钟的精彩演出赢得现场观众的阵阵掌声。
据了解,《鹰井之畔》英文版戏剧由上海戏剧学院与纽约大学戏剧博士叶长海担任编剧、导演,故事从两位小主人公手捧叶芝诗集,轻声诵读《当你老了》开始,他们悄然地带领观众进入了一个从未接触却似曾相识的世界。在这里,小主人公与苦苦等待上百年长生不老的老人、小精灵、乐师进行了多次有意义的对话。借助这部经典作品,希望孩子和成人更明白,怎么理解坚持、怎么理解等待、怎么理解时间、怎么理解珍惜。
叶长海坦言,自己对这部戏进行了非常大幅度的改编,几乎是一种解构性的改编。但最大程度地保留了原著中的神秘主义色彩和基本的人物框架结构。在国内,很少有剧团会演出这部戏,第一是没有较好的中文译本;第二是作品具有浓郁神秘色彩和典型表现主义色彩,与当下商业戏剧市场有些格格不入。叶长海认为,“只有纯粹的心才读得懂叶芝,而小孩子的心,当然是最纯粹的,我希望他们能懂。”
据悉,虽然演出的小朋友年龄为3至10岁,但从选定剧目到剧情解构,从台词创作到服装、舞台、灯光设计等均参照了准专业的戏剧演出标准,而演出效果也大大超出了叶长海的预期。对此,他感慨道,“3个月的静心创作、15天的高强度排练、40分钟的全英文精彩演出,我们做到了!” 教育研究人士认为,这场演出是对“戏剧+英语”学习模式的一种检验,事实也证明戏剧教育所提供的整体“语言环境”是训练儿童英文能力的最佳方法之一。

Ye Changhai confessed that he had a very large adaptation of the play, almost a deconstructive adaptation.
