Ritsumeikan University started interdisciplinary large-scale research projects to solve 2060 problems of "population reduction"

The Japanese Ministry of education in a university to encourage construction of characteristic research project "Research on private university Star project", Ritsumeikan University successfully nominated. In order to show their characteristics of scientific research, Ritsumeikan University opened again on, to show their strength in new areas.

The "2060 issue" means that from the perspective of the equitable distribution of the earth's resources, the population of Japan is expected to reduce to about 88 million people in 2060, and the population is just right. But from the perspective of population distribution, the increasing number of aging population leads to a great gap in the labor force. In order to solve this problem, by the end of 2021, 11 on the base of Ritsumeikan University will conduct the research from many aspects, such as raising the retirement age to 75 years, the aging society, the use of robots can prolong the life of the development of technology and medical equipment, population and economic growth relationship.

The deputy director of the project, Murakami Masaki, said Japan did not have a long-term plan for a reasonable population. This research project will explore the solution of the "2060 problem", and hope to provide some reference for the Asian countries and regions that are hiding the same crisis.
