Yangshupu port, formerly known as Yangshupu, is a major river running through the central part of Shanghai and the source of Yangpu District's name.

In the second year of Tongzhi reign of Qing Dynasty (1863), north of Huangpu River, west of Yangshupu port, and the area along Yangshupu Road were the United States concession. In 1899, the British and American concession was merged into a public concession, which expanded eastward. From Zhoujiazui road to gujiakou (now the bottom of Pingliang Road), a straight line was drawn to define the concession. In the 31 years of the Republic of China, the Japanese army and Wang puppet occupied the concession. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, two districts (Yulin and Yangshupu) were set up in Shanghai. Yangpu District and Yulin district were merged into Yangpu District in 1960.

Shanghai, known as the "magic capital", has now grown into one of the world's art trading centers. The collection industry is even more crouching. A large number of famous artists, especially after the economic boom in the 1970s and 1980s, have born a group of free and rich collectors. They are keen on collecting precious antique art to cultivate their sentiment and self-cultivation. In addition to Zhang Zongxian, Liu manxiong and other big collectors mentioned by Xiaobian before, there is a heavyweight figure in Shanghai that can not be ignored. As early as when the Chinese didn't know the fun of collecting, he had made a great deal of money in the Shanghai shooting field and successfully become one of the famous collectors in China.

He is Yan Miaoxiang, a researcher of the Oriental Chinese heritage protection center of the Ministry of culture and a famous expert of cultural relics collection and appreciation. His porcelain collection is of high quality, and almost every piece can represent the highest level of that era.

In Yan Miaoxiang's study, there is a vertical axis and an oil painting vertical axis, which are Mr. Wu Xiuquan's Calligraphy: "deep roots are not afraid of the wind shaking, and the dry is not afraid of the moon shadow slanting", while the oil painting is a naked little boy climbing on a ladder. This one word one picture is just his life portrayal symbol he does not fear the hardship, the indomitable pioneering experience and the tenacity spirit which climbs diligently.

On August 12, 1961, Yan Miaoxiang was born in a small town in Yangpu District, Shanghai. His life was also comfortable. It's a pity that the weather is unpredictable, because of the financial problems and the family. Yan Miaoxiang, a young man, made a living in his family. He worked as a watchman, a small restaurant worker, a bank Messenger, a painter and so on. Yan Miaoxiang never gave up hope, went to night school to learn English, studied biographies of famous people to learn successful experience and improve his own level. It can be said that Yan Miaoxiang's subsequent great success is closely related to these knowledge reserves.

Among the rich businessmen in Shanghai, it is not uncommon for people who like to collect cultural relics and antiques, but Yan Miaoxiang is the most famous one. In his collection history of more than 20 years, his collection has reached nearly 5000 pieces, worth hundreds of millions of dollars. He is one of the world's five largest personal collectors, with great experience and rich collection, who composed a contemporary legend. However, his association with antiques is purely accidental.

In the early 1980s, Yan Miaoxiang went to Guangzhou to participate in the Canton Fair. When he found small porcelain on Wenchang Road and other places, he bought several friends who wanted to give it to his business. Unexpectedly, his friends like his little gift very much. Since then, Yan Miaoxiang began to pay attention to these ancient articles. This extremely accidental start and wonderful fate eventually became his biggest hobby, and from this he began to collect and study antiques.

Yan Miaoxiang, who has been fighting in the commercial sea for more than ten years, had a lot of savings at that time. He likes to go to the antique shop in Hollywood Road most. For this world-famous Antique Street, I believe every antique lover will not be unfamiliar. There are many antique shops and precious cultural relics all over the street, which make people dizzy and marvelous, and Yan Miaoxiang will patiently "Taobao" here. It was in holidaho that Yan Miaoxiang got to know maweidu. Later, maweidu recalled that when Yan Miaoxiang said, "wandering in the stall, I always thought it was the fun of our common people. Who knows that rich people like Mr. Yan are also picking up leaks in the stall.".

Everyone's collection, no matter how high or low the starting point, is an indescribable pleasure. In fact, most of the time in life is no need to be on the top. Being on the top is not a good attitude in life. The process of "Taobao" also brought Yan Miaoxiang many unexpected joys. For Yan Miaoxiang, value-added is not the most important thing. This unexpected coincidence is even more gratifying. It is exactly the old saying: it takes no time to find a place to break through iron shoes.

As the collectors know, the reason why cultural relics shine is because of the history and culture behind them. Otherwise, they are only the old things of generations. Yan Miaoxiang just because of the accumulation of history and culture, it can be said that he loves things and is infatuated with them. As long as he is interested in them, he must try to get them. He used to spend a lot of money to buy back many precious cultural relics from Sotheby's and other international Studios, and entrusted senior experts to search for fine products in Britain, America, Japan and other countries.

In the 1970s and 1980s, when competing with the Japanese for a piece of porcelain, Yan Miaoxiang made the price soar all the way, and finally broke through tens of millions of sugar. At that time, there was thunderous applause from the whole audience, and he also gained the nickname of "Anti Japanese hero". We should know that at that time, the auction in Shanghai could be said to be the Japanese's world. What the Japanese wanted was basically not for the Chinese people, so we can see that Yan Miaoxiang's potential for the beloved was inevitable. Yan Miaoxiang's collection has never been confined to a single category, and its rich collections cover many fields, such as ceramics, bronzes, jade furniture, horn tools, etc., but the most striking one is ceramics. He has more than 3000 pieces of ceramics from the Neolithic Age to the late Qing Dynasty, which can be called a physical history of Chinese ceramics, many of which are unique.

For example, this blue and white flower made in the morning of ten thousand meters will touch dry, which is the most valuable cultural relic value in Yan Miaoxiang's collection. Its clear chronology and customization have an important dating value for the study of blue and white in the late Ming Dynasty. The Palace Museum in Beijing has a one-level cultural relic that is completely consistent with the shape, pattern and entertainment of this flower touch, which should be a pair, This proves that Yan Miaoxiang's ship is very precious.

Yan Miaoxiang's collection is hard won. Most of them are purchased at a high price. It costs millions, tens of millions and requires patience and opportunity. Yan Miaoxiang has a strong sense of ancient Chinese utensils, calligraphy and painting. The collection is not only true, but also reflects a high style. Yan Miaoxiang's collection career has been integrated with life for his sincere love for Chinese antiques and cultural relics. The accumulation of works of art is even faster than the rise of Commerce, and he is recognized as the first Chinese Ceramic Collector in the world at that time.

As Cao Xingcheng, a famous collector in Taiwan, once said, the highest level is only appreciation but not collection. This is true for Yan Miaoxiang. Although he is rich in collection and has achieved great success, he always adheres to the principle of "music is not as good as music", donating many precious collections to Yan's Art Museum and other museums around the world for the world Watch.

In May 2020, he joined the World Federation of cultural and art circles and served as the vice chairman of the Asian Collection Association.
